Now

What I am working on right now.

Updated 8/13/26

Continuous

  • Mariners Santa Ana. Church planted and launched on September 2021, now a congregation of over 1000 people and continuously growing.
  • Guillermo.me. Redesigning and rebranding this website to try and contribute and help as much as I can to serve others. The key here is trying to figure out the best way to organize and select the kind of content and purpose this website will serve.

New

  • New philosophy for my digital life. During vacation God convicted me to refocus and recalibrate the way I use and interact with my digital life (primarily social media)
  • A conviction for Rest. A series to help people to rest. Interconnected with “A new philosophy for my digital life)
  • Savage Solomon series – (Done!) A fun but serious series (probably weekly post) on an incredible teaching from Solomon that will challenge us but also help us. Solomon was a savage in his proverbs.
  • “Books Worth Reading”. A database and web page that will help users interact with books I usually recommend.
  • GIB (Guillermo’s Intelligence Base). Wanted to create a unique database to hold all my knowledge digitally, but then found out that pretty much everything can be accomplished by Obsidian. So I am now transferring all my years of knowledge into Obsidian to have a system that holds the information but also interconnects it all.
  • Hagah (Praying through the Psalms) — Building a simple daily prayer tool centered on the Psalms. My hope is to help people develop a lifelong habit of praying Scripture one day at a time. The word “Hagah” is the Hebrew word used in Psalm 1 for meditation. As it has been said before, Psalm 1 is an introduction to the rest of the Psalter, so using a word from that Psalm seems adequate.
  • God is Able Database (done and published)— Sunday 7/26/26 I preached a message on Thinking Big and Acting Small. When I talked about thinking big I mentioned how God is able (Ephesians 3:20), and because of that we can think big in our lives. I then showed 13 verses of how God is able to do above and beyond, many people took pictures of the slide and came up to me afterwards to ask me to make that list available. I have now decided to create a small database of the tens and even hundreds of scriptures that talk about God’s ability for his people. Hoping to make this database searchable and browsable so that it can assist people in their time of need.
  • Remembering Names — Creating an app (for myself, but one that can be used by others) with pastors in mind who interact with a lot of people and genuinely want to remember their names. There’s a science to remembering names, but the key may not be to do everything the science tells us—that can quickly become a complicated system. Instead, I want to create something simple, effective, and practical enough to actually use.
    • My current hypothesis is this: If I can enter a few pieces of information that will help me remember someone’s name in less than 30 seconds after an interaction at church, and then the system does the work of reminding me and helping me recall that person throughout the week, I think it could work. A combination of personal connection, technology, memory science, prayer, and repetition could make remembering names both simpler and more meaningful.
    • “A person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” — Dale Carnegie
